Labor Day 2011: For the Salt of the Earth

Posted by

Years ago when employment was robost and we made hard goods and shipped them around the world, Mick and the boys penned a little singalong to close out one of their best selling albums, Beggers’ Banquet. One of the verses:

“Raise your glass to the hard working people/Let’s drink the the uncounted heads/Let’s think of the wavering millions/Who need leaders but get gamblers instead.”–Salt of the Earth by Jagger/Richards

On this Labor Day weekend we, too, salute the hard working people. Most of the leaders, not so much. The American worker can still do amazing things if given half a chance. And with inspiring leadership, it’s still an unbeatable combination, anywhere in the world!

Cheers!

Rick
