McDonald’s Restaurant Owner hit with Sexual Harassment Claims

According to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (“EEOC”) more was going on than serving burgers and fries.

According to the government agency which had filed suit against the Wisconsin-based owner and franchisee of 25 McDonald’s restaurants, male employees had subjected female employees to various degrees of sexual harassment creating a hostile work environment and took no action to stop it when the women complained. The company subsequently agreed to settle the suit for $1 million and take proactive steps to see that such conduct does not occur in the future. That’s a lot of fries.

As strategic Orlando, Florida, Human Resources consultants and business advisors, we encourage Central Florida companies to engage in the necessary training activities to avoid such costly workplace conduct.  Just common sense.
