EEOC goes Fishing for Bass

Posted by

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (“EEOC”) has filed suit against Bass Pro Outdoor World, LLC (“Bass Pro”) for alleged discriminary employment practices. The federal agency alleges that the popular outdoor retail chain engaged discriminatory hiring practices which denied Hispanics and African-Americans equal employment opportunity and then retaliated against employees who opposed such practices. Bass Pro has denied the allegations and the legal battle is on.

As Orlando, Florida, Human Resources consultants we share this as a client advisory. Litigation is expensive. Management training is highly cost effective and builds better teams. It’s more fun to go fishing than be the fish.
